Parent/Tutor Appointments - Important Update

As you will have heard from the news over the weekend, there has been a sudden increase in concern about the current Covid situation with the discovery of a new variant and the possible impact this may have over the coming months.  The Department for Education have yet to issue full guidance to schools but they have sent through some preliminary information which makes clear the need for us to review all events and activities in the light of the emerging challenge facing the country.  We have therefore taken the decision to switch tomorrow’s Tutor / Parents’ Evening to an online event, rather than holding it on site as planned.

We know that many of you will feel frustrated at this decision having requested that we return back to face-to-face Parents’ Evening where possible, and given that we are making the change at such short notice.  However, it is not a decision that we have taken lightly, particularly as we had carefully risk assessed the event and felt that it could be managed safely.  But the ground has shifted over the weekend and the new information that has emerged leads us to conclude that this is the most appropriate course of action.

We are currently going through the technical process of amending the parents’ evening booking system so the Evening will run as an online event.  Later today you will receive an email with a link so you can meet with your child’s tutor at the meeting time you have booked.  If you haven’t received this link by 9.00am tomorrow morning, please contact us so we can resend this to you.  (Please check your Junk folder before getting in touch in case it has been diverted there in error.)  Also if your internet will not allow you to connect to our school system, again please contact us so we can work to find a solution for you.

Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter.
