Adolescent Parenting Course (PPAP) - Mid and East Devon

The Parents Plus Adolescents Programme considers how parents/carers can connect with and build good relationships with their teenage children (aged 11-16), while also being firm and influential in their lives.

Topics include:

  • Getting to know and connecting with your teenager.
  • Communicating positively and effectively.
  • Building your teenager’s self-esteem and confidence.
  • Negotiating rules and boundaries.
  • Teaching teenager’s responsibility.
  • Positive discipline for teenagers.
  • Managing conflict.
  • Solving problems together.

Who should attend?

The course is free to attend and open to all parents and carers who live in Devon. Where possible we recommend that all parents/carers of the young person attend the course as we have found this helps them the most. You could attend separate courses if that works for you and/or please feel free to bring along another supportive family member. We will meet all parents/carers for an introductory meeting prior to the group starting.

The course consists of eight, two and half hour group sessions. The courses are run both online and from January 2022 face to face (if safe to do so) in communities across the county. We aim to run courses in the weekdays and evenings.

If you think that you would benefit from this course then you can apply directly by emailing: earlyhelpmideastsecure-mailbox@devon.gov.uk or contact Baladok@uffculmeschool.net
